Is Adam Levine up on the latest hair trends (and reading about them on Style.com)? His drastic—and very platinum—dye job certainly has us thinking so. The Maroon 5 frontman posted a picture of his peroxide strands on Twitter alongside fiancée Behati Prinsloo. Though we’re a bit uncertain why someone who typically sports a scruff situation would color the hair on their head a completely different hue (in other words, the curtains don’t match the mustache…or the beard…or the brows), the longer we glare at the selfie, the more the look is strangely growing on us. Also, are those cats on his tank top?
It was confirmed this morning that Langley Fox Hemingway‘s recent shade change was a wig (landing her in the league of faux blonds, alongside Ruby Jean Wilson), but now we’re wondering if Ashleigh Good has really gone platinum? If so, the former brunette can join the ranks of Julia Nobis and Saskia de Brauw, as well as Miley Cyrus’ eyebrows. [Instagram]
“Someone recommended I wax. I do that. I shave as little as possible. I hate shaving. It’s so unnatural, your skin is yelling at you,” People‘s Sexiest Man Alive, Adam Levine, told the glossy. It appears he’s got the same grooming ritual as Jared Leto.
For guys who prefer to man-scape more like, well, a man, Philips Norelco launched a beard trimmer that projects a red laser onto the skin for precise shaving. [Wired]
Yves Saint Laurent has lent a Midas touch to the brand’s classic Opium fragrance. Fifty bottles burnished with gold leaf are available for 2,000 euros each. In order to snag this spritz, you’ll need a king’s ransom. [Paris Vogue]
You don’t have to be a tiger to earn their stripes. Colorist Aura Friedman recently painted black bands on a blond client—which is right on trend if you consider the zebra pattern stamped on strands at Rodarte. [Allure]
Jason Wu launched a nail collaboration with CND three years ago, followed by a scented candle with Nest Fragrances in 2012, leaving the growing number of Wu acolytes the world over to wonder when MObama’s favorite American designer would extend his reach into cosmetics. Wonder no more: Today Lancôme announced that it will partner with Wu on his first makeup range, due out in September. [Lancôme]
Rihanna went back to her red-bowl-cut roots last week—although she appears to have tired of it already. Riri’s latest hairstyle evolution is the classic side shave with extensions—an oldie but a goodie. [Coco Perez]
Looking for some quality beauty tips from the Fall shows in Copenhagen? MAC senior artist Elke W. has all the backstage details. Those two-toned lips at Vivienne Westwood? A layering effort of MAC Chromagraphic Pencils in Rich Purple, Process Magenta, or Burgundy and its Lipmix in Mid-Tone Nude, which was inspired by “plastic doll-like porn lips.” Fascinating. Before she becomes a first-time mother, Kim Kardashian will become a six-time fragrance producer. Her Honey eau de parfum will bow in the Fall, a few short months before baby Kimye. [Hollywood Life]
In other celebrity-fragrance news, Adam Levine wants the world to know that his debut scent will not be “another bullshit celebrity fragrance.” Instead, the spicy, Indian jasmine, Australian sandalwood, rose petal, and vanilla men’s eau will be understated and elegant—”like Tom ford,” Levine says. Those are some pretty lofty ambitions, but the star from The Voice certainly seems to think that he’s up to the challenge. [WWD]
