Adele Bats Her Lashes for Fendi

-------

adele-fendi-bag-lashes[1]

Out of all the Fendi Peekaboo bags up for auction today to benefit Kids Company, I have to admit that Adele’s lash-laden version is my favorite. Not only is it on trend with what we saw on the Fall 2014 runways (clogged and clumpy spider legs at Prada and Missoni; extreme falsies at Gucci, Versace, and Rochas), but it reflects the singer-turned-designer’s personal love of faux fringe. The Brit songstress almost always accents her eyes with a thick band of black liner and luxe lashes on the red carpet, so we’d expect her dream handbag to sport an equally impressive set. Should your bid not be high enough to get your hands on this accessory, consider purchasing Ardell’s Double Up Lashes (a brand favored among backstage pros) at a reasonable $3.99 a pop.

Pat McGrath on Her Excess Baggage, What One Victoria’s Secret Model Won’t Be Showing Off, and More

-------

pat-mcgrath-crop“I’ve never seen someone travel with so much in my life,” model Naomi Campbell told WSJ. Magazine of Pat McGrath’s makeup cache. “And that says something, coming from me.” But the face painter made a case for not packing light: “When you walk into a room and there are racks and racks of beautiful clothes, do you really want to ruin it all with a bad lipstick?” she said. Point taken. [WSJ. Magazine]

The body part Behati Prinsloo won’t be baring at this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show? Her arms. A British military-style jacket will keep her guns under cover. [Elle.com]

L’Oréal Paris has certainly scooped up a lot of star power in the past few weeks (signing both Blake Lively and Lara Stone as spokeswomen for the brand). But according to recent reports, Adele won’t be belting out “Because you’re worth it” anytime soon. Not even for 12 million pounds. [Refinery29]

Two Jennifers have recently made the chop—but not out of desire for kicky new cuts. For Jennifer Aniston, it was a Brazilian blow-out gone terribly wrong that did her in, but Jennifer Lawrence has Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence to blame. Constant hair-dyeing, in the name of Katniss, left this tribute’s long strands fried and a pixie in their place. [New York]

-------

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Carrie UnderwoodManicurist Deborah Lippmann may have recently tapped former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson to produce a glittery purple lacquer, but Nicole By OPI announced today that it’s partnering with fellow Idol alum Carrie Underwood to produce a line of fourteen polishes, set to hit shelves in January. The predetermined hit designed for the country star: a gold textured shade aptly named Carrie’d Away. [Twitter]

In other nail news, Byrdie reports that celebrities such as Rihanna and Adele are taking a break from short tips and opting for sophisticated talons. Even Daria Werbowy sported an extra-long ruby mani for Céline’s latest campaign.

It’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind…and her nail color, but buying a bottle of nail polish remover will soon force you to flash that always-unflattering driver’s license photo at the drugstore. In an attempt to curb the production of methamphetamine, CVS implemented a new policy in New England (soon to roll out chain-wide) that requires a valid ID to purchase acetone-containing products. Birthday girl Cara Delevingne hasn’t just impacted the fashion world in a major way, according to Vogue.co.UK an increase in online searches for the model’s name has affected Google’s algorithms. Search terms like “tweezers” and “eyebrow plucking” have significantly decreased in popularity since November 2012. The Internet giant and super’s arches have officially spoken: Bigger (and bushier) really is better.

Rachel Zoe opened her DreamDry blow-dry salon in New York’s Flatiron District last month, and 1,000 appointments in the first week alone gave her the confidence to expand. Another Manhattan outpost on 57th Street as well as national locations are scheduled to roll out this year. [WWD]

Gisele’s new Chanel beauty video for its Les Beiges makeup collection is up and running—and pretty tame. But just seeing the supe onscreen makes it a must-see. [Huff Po]

Halle Berry made headlines this morning after telling Conan O’Brien where exactly she sprays that collection of fragrances that bear her name. “You’re supposed to spray it in between your thighs. Then it heats up and the aroma rises up all day long,” Berry told the late-night host. Scandalous! [NYDN]

Word from the gossip mill is that Adele is designing a skincare line—or will be the face of a new skincare line. Watch this space. [OK!]
