Frizz? On The Red Carpet? Believe It.

Speaking of frizzy updos at the Oscars, did anyone else notice an abundance of fly-aways last night? We are specifically referring to the hairstyles preferred by Jennifer Lopez, courtesy of coif master Robert Vetica, and Sarah Jessica Parker, which included voluminous buns in the back and a mass of soft frizz around the hairline. We get that the deliberate technique is meant to soften the look (and the blow that humidity-induced damage can bring to the table), but it came off looking kind of sloppy to us. We preferred the sleeker techniques Enzo Angileri and Harry Josh applied to Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried, respectively. You?

Amanda Seyfried’s Heady Range

With her new film, Dear John, about to hit theaters, Amanda Seyfried has been showing off the many ways she can style her long flaxen waves on the red carpet. The past few weeks have seen the Big Love star in a forties-era side part and a wispy updo. Last night on David Letterman, she went kind of Robert Palmer video girl on us with a slicked-back chignon paired with a red lip and a subtle smoky eye. Do you have a favorite look?

A Statement-Lip Standoff At TIFF

The Toronto International Film Festival is shaping up to be quite the beauty showcase. Amanda Seyfried attempted a muted gray lip earlier in the week, and of course there was Drew Barrymore’s homespun hair color job from Sunday night. Yesterday also proved noteworthy as Natalie Portman and actress Zhu Xuan faced off in a battle of the perfect pout, exhibiting shiny fuchsia and a glossy black at the premieres of Love and Other Possible Pursuits and Prince of Tears, respectively. Who do you think came out the winner?
