Sinking Battleship Beauty

After appearing in 2011′s Just Go With It, Brooklyn Decker seems to have caught the acting bug as she embarks on a world tour to promote her new film, Battleship. The Sports Illustrated model also seems to have caught the hair color bug. At the action movie’s Korea premiere today, Decker was business up front, sporting a tousled updo and a glossy nude lip, and party in back, weaving hot magenta accents through her strands. As previously mentioned, Charlotte Free is pretty much the only person whose pink hair doesn’t rub us the wrong way, but even if that weren’t the case, Decker’s implementation of the bubble-gum streaks would still be confusing with her elegant, backless black lace gown and classic, dewy makeup. Call us square, but they just seem to add a totally unnecessary edge—right?

Rihanna Reaches The Tipping Point

Almondine nails have become the provenance of rock star exhibitionists like Fergie, Lady Gaga, and more recently Lana Del Rey. But Rihanna took things one step further, as she so often does, at the Battleship premiere in Tokyo yesterday. The singer is pulling out all the beauty stops for her big-screen blockbuster debut, and in addition to going dark for the press junket, she sported ombré, gold-black gels filed to a precise point for the movie’s Japan release. Despite the talonlike shape, there’s something subdued about the style; it comes across as edgy, but not necessarily tacky. Although maybe that’s just us. What do you think?
