12 Gorgeous Ways to Rock Glasses Tonight

“Men aren’t attentive to girls who wear glasses,” claimed nearsighted knockout Pola Debevoise (played by Marilyn Monroe) in the 1953 classic How to Marry a Millionaire. But the conclusion of the movie—and multiple celebs sporting frames on the red carpet—proves otherwise. Male opinions aside, specs are having a serious style moment. Everyone from Lupita Nyong’o at the MTV Movie Awards to models this past season at Rodarte illustrate that wearing frames after dark is a beauty move worth trying. As chic as Jennifer Lawrence makes stumbling up the stairs look, seeing clearly and walking with confidence is always on trend. Here, a roundup of our favorite girls in glasses: Click to view the slideshow.

The Better to See You With, My Dear

MBFWA Trends - Arrivals - MBFFS 2013Victoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton opted for an accessory other than wings to wear down the Trends Gala runway at Sydney’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival. The Angel partnered with eyewear brand Osiris—which, according to Harper’s Bazaar Australia collaborated with French couture designer Jørgen Simonsen to create the sixty-piece collection of specs. For her Spring 2013 show, Diane von Furstenberg sent a few girls down her catwalk wearing Google Glass, and now Heatherton makes yet another case for high-fashion frames. Having four eyes never felt more on-trend.

Jessica Simpson’s Post-Baby Diet Plans Put On Hold; How To Eat Like An Angel; And More…

Jessica Simpson confirmed via Twitter yesterday that she is in fact pregnant with her second child a cool seven months after giving birth to her first. So, what does that mean for the multi-million dollar deal she signed with Weight Watchers, which was hoping to benefit on what would have been a very public post-baby slim down? There will be “no changes,” says the dieting brand, which will use footage of Simpson’s weight loss after giving birth to baby Maxwell in May in a new advertising campaign. Simpson “will not be following the program” during her second pregnancy. [USA Today]

In other dieting news, Victoria’s Secret Angel and former Leonardo DiCaprio flame Erin Heatherton admits that while working out is essential to maintaining her Angel-caliber body, so is eating. “It’s important to be fit, but you shouldn’t get too skinny. You need to have curves,” says the blond bombshell, who works out twice a day but also makes sure to keep her calorie intake high, so there’s something to “build on. If you’re not eating enough, all the work-outs are doing, it’s not going to show.” [Daily Mail]

Beware of bootleg Botox. According to a letter the FDA sent to 350 medical practices last month that was just made public, counterfeit and potentially dangerous forms of the wrinkle-reducing toxin have been purchased from Canadian pharmaceutical companies and are currently circulating stateside. Turkey’s beauty tourism business is booming, but it’s not the country’s signature hammams that are bringing in the big bucks. Nope, that honor goes to an uptick in visitors to the country seeking beard and mustache implants! [Guardian]

Celebrity fragrances were big sellers at the retail counter this holiday season, with Lady Gaga’s Fame topping out as the number one perfume in the U.K., while sets from Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber were big sellers at home. [Starpulse and Glamour]

Aerin To Arrive In August; The Simple Secret To A Supermodel Body, Revealed; And More…

Aerin Lauder’s Aerin LLC, the lifestyle brand that Estée’s granddaughter announced last year, is in full swing and will debut its cosmetics component in August. “My goal was to create a line that was all about modern, effortless beauty,” she says of the initial primping offerings, which will include a cream-to-powder foundation that doubles as a concealer, bronzers, multi-use lip and cheek stains, a lip conditioner, a hand and body cream, a makeup bag, and a kit of brush essentials. So how do the nail polish wizards come up with clever names for their lacquers? “It takes six people eight hours to name 12 shades,” according to Suzi Weiss Fischmann, OPI’s creative director. There’s also usually some visual—or gastronomical—stimuli, as was the case with brainstorming the brand’s new Germany collection. “For this one we sat in a room and ate German food to get inspired.” [Independent]

“It’s really not always about working out. The most important thing is about what you eat,” Cindy Crawford once told Victoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton, thus kick-starting the catwalker’s protein-heavy, gluten-free diet (and bangin’ body). [Daily Mail]

Jury’s still out as far as who will win big at the FIFI awards on Monday, but one thing is for sure: With Jane Lynch as the evening’s emcee, the fragrance industry’s biggest night will be funny. [WWD]

Spotlight On Beauty Spots

Here is an inconvenient truth about me: I am a freckle-face. Not always—mostly in the summer when the sun is strong and my skin’s proclivity toward pigmentation is unavoidable. Regardless, I have mixed feelings about it. Sure, it’s “cute,” but it’s really just a sign of the darker and darker sun spots that are to come—a terrifying reality I discovered after getting one of those UV-damage scans at a medispa a few years back (for the record, the answer to “do you want to see what your pigmentation will look like in 10 years?” is NO). Every so often, however—like when I recently flipped through the July issue of Elle Russia—I feel lucky to have “beauty marks,” as my freckled mother refers to the tiny brown flecks. Erin Heatherton does spotted girls proud in this Enrique Badulescu-lensed spread, helped along by a nice golden glow and slightly stained mouth, courtesy of facepainter Andrew Gallimore. While I typically condemn wearing makeup to the beach, this subtle pink pout is something I might consider for my next trip to Far Rockaway, although getting my hands on these Cutler and Gross shades may have to be my first priority.
