Oil-Based Skincare Brought to You By Goop and Sonya Dakar

Sonya Dakar is somewhat of a skincare psychic. Upon looking at a client’s complexion, the facialist can determine whether they’ve been eating properly; if a breakout is related to digestive problems; and, more important, which products will eradicate the issues at hand. Her latest labor of love: a four-piece, 100 percent natural collection that launched yesterday on Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle website, Goop. Made from the oil of a hoya flower—a protected plant species found in Asia that is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits—the line includes a cleanser, organic omega booster (a new variation of Dakar’s cult-favorite skin-changing serum), body oil, and eye treatment. “Oils were originally used to anoint kings and leaders, and have incredible antibacterial properties,” Dakar noted.

In addition to the hoya flower, the range boasts a bevy of other complexion conditioning ingredients: Passion fruit and fig oils protect and strengthen skin; grapefruit, orange, and lime extracts purify and invigorate; and grape seed and avocado oils nourish while infusing your face with antioxidants. And if it’s good enough for Gwyneth, than it’s good enough for us…not to mention, sticking to a skincare regimen sounds a hell of a lot simpler than conscious uncoupling.

Julianne Moore was only just named the new face of L’Oreal’s antiaging Cellular Renaissance line, and she’s already doling out the beauty wisdom. “I think it’s a privilege to age,” says the 51-year-old flame-haired actress. “Often as adult women, you hear people say that they wish they were younger—to which I say, enjoy where you are. Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday fragrance has finally arrived—as has its elaborate commercial, which features a black-clad Minaj laying on a bed of black roses, which turn a shade of bright fuchsia after she pricks her finger on a thorn and bleeds bubblegum pink all over the set. Clinique has partnered with model Petra Nemcova’s Happy Hearts Fund and will start raising funds for the foundation dedicated to rebuilding schools in disaster-stricken areas through profits earned from its Happy Heart women’s fragrance and a series of limited-edition “Make Someone Happy” T-shirts. The actress has just inked a deal to be a global ambassador for Almay, which, taken into consideration with Jennifer Aniston’s new fragrance launch and Julia Roberts’ Lancôme deal, makes 2010 a banner year for the leading ladies of romantic comedies. Kate may be putting it on, but Kim Kardashian is taking it all off—which is a pretty major deal, if you’ve ever seen how much makeup the reality star cakes on for TV. We hated on her E! show for years, but after recently succumbing to a four-hour marathon, we’re officially hooked. [Life & Style]
