L’Oréal Goes To Hollywood, Oprah’s Makeup Artist Heads Down Under, And More…

L’Oréal Paris can now add “friend of the Walk of Fame” to its long list of accolades. The beauty giant, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, was honored yesterday for its commitment to preserving the iconic Hollywood street, which it has apparently deemed “worth it.” [Reuters]

Oprah’s longtime makeup artist, Reggie Wells, has just been appointed international creative director of Australian beauty brand Hissyfit. Seeing as how Wells’ discerning clientele also includes Beyoncé, Halle Berry, and one Janice Dickinson, the brand’s aggressive moniker likely didn’t deter him one bit. [PR Log]

Lush Cosmetics has joined forces with the Hunt Saboteurs Association (HSA) to help raise awareness against hunting with hounds in the U.K., which is an illegal, though still popular, practice. One might say the natural beauty brand is officially “getting foxy.” [Gazette Live]

For the upcoming holiday season, it’s all about the solid fragrance in a bauble. An onslaught of scented bangles, key chains, costume rings, and cell phone charms is about to infiltrate department stores worldwide. Stodgy old flacons, beware. [Independent]

Halle Berry Gives a Lesson In Liner

At the Fall shows last February, Charlotte Tilbury told us that lip liner would be making a serious comeback, harking back to its early-nineties heyday. And with the influx of bold lip colors that are popular this season, containing all of that pigment with a sharpened pencil has become compulsory. But we were sort of hoping Tilbury was predicting a repeat appearance of the darker line/neutral pout combo, popularized by bands like En Vogue circa ’93—the “Whatta Man” era, if you will. While the look has yet to receive an open-armed embrace on the red carpet, Halle Berry managed to pull off a successful revival effort last night at Keep a Child Alive’s Sixth Annual Black Ball in New York. Do you think it belongs back in the nineties, or would you happily welcome its second coming?

Jessica Biel Joins Revlon, Goes To The Ball

Jessica Biel has just inked a new deal to become a Revlon global brand ambassador. What this means is three things: The actress will join an already impressive list of spokeswomen that includes Academy Award winners Halle Berry and Jennifer Connelly, as well as Jessica Alba and Elle Macpherson. She’ll be involved with various Revlon-sponsored philanthropic activities and fundraising events, in addition to fronting global advertising campaigns, of course. And—here’s the best part—she’ll accompany her superstar boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, at the Costume Institute Gala tonight sporting a makeup look courtesy of Revlon global artistic director Gucci Westman. Halle’s Highlights, Not A Glowing Review

Blonder and more bobbed than usual, Halle Berry was looking a little Stepford Wives for our taste at the 2009 Jenesse Silver Rose gala in Beverly Hills last night. (Luckily, she skipped the strand of pearls and cardigan to match.) We definitely prefer her a bit darker, sans highlights—or with the much discussed afro she broke out briefly last fall. You?

Halle Berry fans, take note: The Oscar winner’s first fragrance, a woody oriental she collaborated on with Coty, hits shelves next week. A nose in her own right (the starlet reportedly delights in mixing and layering scents to create her own signature eau de parfum), Berry’s Halle by Halle Berry features mimosa and fig essences that the press materials explain are intended to evoke “the spirit of a woman who is effortlessly sexy, stylish, and elegant.” If you’re looking for something that’s more deliberately sexy, tacky, and borderline trashy, Jenna Jameson has also just launched her own scent, Heartbreaker by Jenna. (In the world of celebrity fragrance, there is something for everyone.)
