While a natural, beige nail seems to have won out this season at New York fashion week (appearing at Derek Lam, Vera Wang, and Michael Kors among many others), the manicurist at Proenza Schouler has no intentions of going bare:
“Nail art has been alive for years—Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Detroit—for me it never dies. It may go down to a solid [color] or something more mild [for Spring 2014], but I’m always going to have a party.”
And to that, we say: Lacquer up and dance like nobody’s watching.
When Marc Jacobs launched Dot, the third fragrance in his perfume arsenal that already included Daisy and Lola, bottle buffs were likely beside themselves. “I approach [them] as [objects],” Jacobs said of his fragrance flacons, which reliably included 3-D embellishments and bold color statements. Explaining that he was “absolutely insistent” that Dot feature red and black polka dots, as well as abstract butterflies, Jacobs was just as quick to point out that he is plenty aware that good looks will only get you so far. “The story’s not going to sell it to [the consumer],” he admitted. It sure does help, though, which is presumably why the designer has revisited the same packaging idea for his new summer spin-off called Honey. A brighter alternative to Dot, the scent features a yellow cap on top of a clear glass orb, both of which are adorned with white spots, as well as Jacobs’ beloved butterflies, which take on a clear transparent golden hue this time around that is accessorized with black stripes. The undeniably adorable exterior might reel you in, but it’s the light and fresh pear, mandarin, peach nectar, honeysuckle, actual honey, and golden vanilla notes contained inside that will likely keep you coming back for more.

The private trainers and nutritionists certainly don’t hurt, but getting red-carpet-ready is increasingly about beauty from the inside out, as skin supplements, probiotics, and even Epsom-salt baths, to relieve bloating, gain ground in Hollywood’s A-list circles. [Daily Mail]
A$AP Rocky proved to be a formidable fashion fan this season, turning up front row at Dior Couture and Y-3, and it turns out he also knows a thing or two about beauty. “You’ve got to exfoliate, you know?” the rapper says, extolling the skin-regenerating virtues of witch hazel. [The Coveteur]
In other men-who-care news, Justin Bieber has cut his hair, revealing an undercut-like fade with a floppy mess of bangs reminiscent of his signature, oft-imitated2009 style. Watch out, ladies. [MTV]
