Lawrence Ditches Her Doppelgänger Image

-------

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" - UK Premiere - Red Carpet ArrivalsUpon first seeing Jennifer Lawrence’s new short cut, I was convinced it was a wig. Not only are they de rigueur on the runway and the red carpet these days, but I also wasn’t able to entirely wrap my head around the idea that Katniss could now double as Kate Gosselin (what a way to dodge the paparazzi…). At last night’s U.K. premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, however, Lawrence looked every bit the star that she is—strands sexily slicked back, with a strong side part and smoky eye makeup. And with no hair grazing her neck and shoulders, we got to see the Dior dress she wore in all its back-baring glory. I’m pretty certain nobody could confuse the celeb for a mother of eight driving a minivan.

Jennifer Lawrence is continuing the trend to get chopped (or wear a wig), posting a photo of her new “cut” on Facebook. No matter how you slice it, she’s a definite doppelganger for Kate Gosselin. [Facebook]

Jared Leto is smooth—real smooth. He committed to his role as a transsexual in Dallas Buyers Club by waxing not just his legs but also his eyebrows. [The Cut]

It’s never too early to break out the Mariah Carey Christmas CD or holiday-themed OPI nail polishes inspired by the diva. Naturally, there’s plenty of glitter in the line (and not the kind that tanks at the box office).

Brangelina’s oldest daughter, Shiloh, might be a tomboy, but their youngest, Vivienne, is proving to be an early adopter of all things girly. The four-year-old was spotted sporting a pink manicure while on an errand with her mom yesterday in Beverly Hills. [E!]

Katniss Returns!

-------

Fresh off her Oscar win on Sunday night, it looks like blonde beauty Jennifer Lawrence isn’t so blonde anymore. With her Silver Linings Playbook run officially over, the actress is set to return to the set of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire to play the brunette Katniss Everdeen, which might explain why she stepped out of the Rossano Ferretti salon in Los Angeles this morning a shade of deep chocolate brown. There is indeed no rest for the weary. Thoughts on Jennifer’s drastic dye job?

Face-Off: Sheer Raspberry Lipstick

-------

The Oscars are still two and a half weeks away, but the best-actress race is already heating up. At last night’s Hollywood Reporter Nominees Night bash in Beverly Hills, celebrating the men and women whose names will be read aloud on February 24, best-actress hopefuls Naomi Watts and Jennifer Lawrence were wearing a near-identical shade of sheer raspberry lipstick, opting for glossy translucence over the more red-carpet-friendly matte mouth. Watts paired her lightweight lip with groomed brows and mascara, while Lawrence opted for a subtle gray smoky eye, bumping up the glam factor for the casual cocktail party. We’re not going to allege that this mere makeup move insinuates that she wants it more, but…we are going to let the evidence speak for itself. Who do you think wore it better?
