The private trainers and nutritionists certainly don’t hurt, but getting red-carpet-ready is increasingly about beauty from the inside out, as skin supplements, probiotics, and even Epsom-salt baths, to relieve bloating, gain ground in Hollywood’s A-list circles. [Daily Mail]
A$AP Rocky proved to be a formidable fashion fan this season, turning up front row at Dior Couture and Y-3, and it turns out he also knows a thing or two about beauty. “You’ve got to exfoliate, you know?” the rapper says, extolling the skin-regenerating virtues of witch hazel. [The Coveteur]
In other men-who-care news, Justin Bieber has cut his hair, revealing an undercut-like fade with a floppy mess of bangs reminiscent of his signature, oft-imitated2009 style. Watch out, ladies. [MTV]
Jessica Simpson’s Post-Baby Diet Plans Put On Hold; How To Eat Like An Angel; And More…
Jessica Simpson confirmed via Twitter yesterday that she is in fact pregnant with her second child a cool seven months after giving birth to her first. So, what does that mean for the multi-million dollar deal she signed with Weight Watchers, which was hoping to benefit on what would have been a very public post-baby slim down? There will be “no changes,” says the dieting brand, which will use footage of Simpson’s weight loss after giving birth to baby Maxwell in May in a new advertising campaign. Simpson “will not be following the program” during her second pregnancy. [USA Today]
In other dieting news, Victoria’s Secret Angel and former Leonardo DiCaprio flame Erin Heatherton admits that while working out is essential to maintaining her Angel-caliber body, so is eating. “It’s important to be fit, but you shouldn’t get too skinny. You need to have curves,” says the blond bombshell, who works out twice a day but also makes sure to keep her calorie intake high, so there’s something to “build on. If you’re not eating enough, all the work-outs are doing, it’s not going to show.” [Daily Mail]

Turkey’s beauty tourism business is booming, but it’s not the country’s signature hammams that are bringing in the big bucks. Nope, that honor goes to an uptick in visitors to the country seeking beard and mustache implants! [Guardian]

Justin Bieber Calls Prince William Out on Hair Loss; CC Creams The New BB Creams?; And More…
Prince William’s thinning hair has been a topic of considerable speculation since the Royal Wedding last year, and Justin Bieber recently called the future king out on his mane, saying, “I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia. You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over there?” Be careful what you say, Justin, karma comes around. [Telegraph]
This year, the beauty industry has been buzzing about Blemish Balms, a.k.a. BB creams, which combine primer and tinted moisturizer into one, and now there’s a new wave of products with an equally catchy alliterative nickname. Color control, or CC, creams, are touted to go one step beyond, providing similar coverage with the addition of nourishing ingredients. Could DD creams be far behind? [Refinery 29]
The New York Times reports a rise in hair transplants, cosmetic tattoos, and topical treatments aimed at achieving fuller eyebrows à la Cara Delevingne, Brooke Shields, or Kim Kardashian. For such matters, we remain trusty fans of the good ol’ brow pencil. [NYT]
Mohawks are now trending, thanks to Bobak Ferdowsi, the flight director on the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity mission, who became an Internet sensation overnight for rocking the punky style. Think we will see those on the runway next month? We doubt it. [Guardian]
Spray-Tan Danger: What You Need To Know; Lauren Hutton, Scissor Sister; And More…
In what can only be described as a power move to end all power moves, Elizabeth Arden has purchased the fragrance licenses of Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj from Give Back Brands LLC. Coty Inc., which holds licenses for Beyoncé’s scent empire, not to mention the as-yet-unreleased Lady Gaga perfume, has no doubt taken note. [WWD]
Bad news for the sunless tanning industry—and lovers of glowing skin the world over: A panel of medical experts has revealed that the active chemical used in spray tans—dihydroxyacetone (DHA)—can potentially damage DNA and cause genetic alterations if inhaled. Perhaps it’s finally time to embrace the pale. [IBT]
Lauren Hutton revealed a short crop at Stella McCartney’s Resort presentation on Monday, and apparently, the American Gigolo star cut it herself! “I was closing up a house, and it felt like I needed more closure. I guess I was depressed. I’d been doing that thing where I read The Economist too much. You know, reading it front to back for weeks on end isn’t always good for you. Instead of suicide, I ran into the kitchen and grabbed a pair of poultry shears. I grabbed one half [of my hair] and went whack, and then I grabbed the other side and went whack again!” [The Cut]
Also in the crowd at McCartney’s show was a newly shorn Anne Hathaway, who, as it is widely known known, cut her hair to play Fantine in Les Misérables. But even though she snipped her long strands for a role, Hathaway is considering keeping them cropped. “I’m just so pleased with how I look, so I now quite like having short hair.” [NY Mag]
