Rihanna’s out as the face of Nivea after working with the skincare brand on its 100th anniversary campaign. Nivea CEO Stefan Heidenreich insinuated Rihanna’s lifestyle is a bit wild for the company’s wholesome image. “Rihanna is a no-go,” Heidenreich said. “I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family, and reliability.” Rihanna responded by tweeting a picture of Heidenreich captioned “No caption necessary.” [Telegraph]

Of course, all those Kérastase products, curling irons, and pins won’t give you Beckinsdale’s flawless genetics, but it’s a step in the right direction. [Allure]
In the past year, Katy Perry’s hair has been dyed nearly every color in a bag of Skittles. The brand known for its straighteners, brushes, and other products tapped Ellen von Unwerth to shoot Perry sporting a variety of sleek hairstyles for the ads. [Fashion Etc.]
At this point, we all know about Ryan Lochte’s affinity for flashy grills, but the Olympic swimmer has a new favorite accessory— and it brings just as much bling to the table. Gillette sent Lochte a set of gold-plated, diamond-encrusted razors, which he proceeded to plug on Twitter (obviously). [@RyanLochte]

There’s a new phenomenon going on with female tennis players, and it’s reached new heights at Wimbledon, where on-court makeup is getting a lot of attention. “It’s become more of a show business. It’s even better when you look good and you win,” according to tennis great Martina Hingis, who points out that while Serena, Anna, and Jelena slick on the mascara and eyeliner, pre-set face painting just didn’t happen in the nineties. We’ve always enjoyed the concept of a fancy ponytail, and we can’t pass up the chance to discuss a good showing when we see one. Behold, Kate Beckinsale’s voluminous pony at the U.S. premiere of Going the Distance in L.A. last night. A combination of back-combing and finger-combing made this bodacious updo possible—it’s one part girl next door, another part professional athlete, and 100 percent red-carpet-ready. Love. You?
The perfectly painted lips, sultry smoky eyes, and polished coifs seen on the red carpet at Cannes over the past week don’t just happen. Hair and makeup teams have been flown to the Riviera from around the globe to attend to the bevy of starlets promoting their flicks there. Dior has even set up an entire beauty suite with hair help from Odile Gilbert and her team. Maintaining a radiant complexion on the premiere circuit takes more than an expert face painter, though. Enter the new U Spa Barrière at the Hôtel Majestic Barrière. The 450-square-meter relaxation cocoon with ocean views uses Sisley’s phyto-aromatic skincare line and features a “water paradise booth,” in which hot and cold showers intermingle with fragrance, sound, and light for a true multi-sensory experience. Naomi Campbell and Mary J. Blige have already been invited to experience the range of anti-stress, purifying, and energizing face and body rituals, and Kate Beckinsale indulged in Sisley’s new Supreme Anti-Age Treatment earlier this week. The house specialty, it combines the benefits of Sisley’s new Supremya at Night cream, an emollient salve that capitalizes on the most recent advances in the field of chronobiology and skin physiology, with an in-depth antiaging massage. The treatment is exclusive to the Barrière for six months, but fingers crossed it will arrive at other Sisley spas like, say, Sense at New York’s Carlyle Hotel, soon thereafter. The Upper East Side is no Cannes, but it is a tad more convenient for us.
