At last year’s Golden Globes, something unusual happened that completely usurped the show’s typical beauty highlights. After the ceremony began and the gaggle of gowns, chignons, and painted pouts were seated, the camera panned to Angelina Jolie, who, at that very moment, rifled through her bag, produced a crystalline pink lip gloss, and proceeded to apply it at will. The Twitterverse erupted, and within a matter of hours, it was revealed that Angie was a fan of Chantecaille’s Brilliant Gloss in Love—so much so that she brought it in her clutch for periodic touch-ups throughout the evening. At the 69th annual Golden Globes last night, there were no such live, on-screen beauty moments to speak of, although we couldn’t quell the burning desire to know just what the nominees had packed in their purses. So, we did what any good reporter would do: We asked their makeup artists. Here, in a Style.com exclusive, face-painting stars like Clarins celebrity beauty artist Pati Dubroff and global artistry director and brand ambassador for Laura Mercier Matin Maulawizada tell us the single item they sent A-listers like Julianne Moore and Claire Danes down the red carpet with. Because you never know when unnecessary shine or a faded statement lip could ruin your moment in the spotlight.

Getting glam for the Golden Globes takes a lot more than just 24 hours of preparation. Charlize Theron will apparently get a 50-minute Power Peel with microdermabrasion at Ole Henriksen five days before Sunday’s show, while Kate Winslet will be popping in for a last-minute electrocurrent Red Carpet Facial with Tracie Martyn before she breaks for L.A. After creating a one-of-a-kind bald Barbie for a 4-year-old undergoing chemotherapy treatment last year, Mattel is being lobbied by a growing number of Facebook fans to mass-produce the doll for all girls—and women—suffering from hair loss. [Huff Po]

There is a spoof commercial circulating the Internet today about the “the next revolution in beauty,” a.k.a, Fotoshop by Adobé. The idea of bottling Photoshop is funny enough, but the fake ad masters the tone of a classic beauty commercial, which adds just a little more hilarity to the equation. [Fashionista]

Today marks the official start of Burberry’s new Facebook sampling campaign with its latest fragrance, simply called Burberry Body. Not friends with Burberry online? Not to worry. The floral, woody, amber eau hits stores September 1. [WWD]

In other designer fragrance news, after debuting Esprit d’Oscar in the spring, Oscar de la Renta is launching its first, totally new fragrance since getting its beauty license back last year. Live in Love, a green floral, takes its name directly from a tattoo on the arm of the chief of the house’s atelier and utilizes the old-school method of illustrated fragrance ads. [WWD]

In addition to coming out against plastic surgery, Kate Winslet is working on another big beauty move: a curated makeup line with Lancôme to benefit her charity the Golden Hat Foundation, which helps improve the lives of autistic children. [Independent]

What does it take to keep Britney Spears’ complexion flawless and her tousled hair grease-free as she writhes her way through a two-hour show? Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation, its HD MicroFinish powder, and a few spritzes of Bumble and Bumble’s Dry Shampoo. [Allure]

Ricky’s NYC is about to become Ricky’s U.S.A. The Manhattan mainstay for everything from wigs and fishnets to all-natural skincare and niche hair and makeup brands is embarking on a nationwide expansion. [WWD]

After the success of Les Khakis de Chanel, Peter Philips’ limited-edition nail trio for Fashion’s Night Out 2010, it should come as no surprise that the makeup maestro has stayed the polish course for 2011 with Les Jeans de Chanel, a new denim-inspired lacquer range due out September 8. [Racked]

Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz, and Emma Thompson have formed what they’re calling the “British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League.” It’s not an actual organization, per se, just a way to create a discourse around the subject of ageism. “I will never give in,” Winslet says about going under the knife. [Us]

Fellow Brit screen star Helen Mirren could very well become the newest member of Winslet’s crew. The 66-year-old has come out against plastic surgery in “young people.” “The purity of youthful beauty is so fantastic to me that it’s horrific when young girls get fake things,” Mirren says. [Radar]
