Today In Hollywood Hair Transformations; Nicole’s Simple Beauty Life; And More…

-------

As the celebrity hair world turns. Today saw the debut of shorter, lobbed highlights for Olivia Wilde and a flaming magenta dye job for Juliette Lewis, who, it should be noted, dabbled in blue strands long before a certain meat-dress-wearing pop star did. [Daily Mail]

Despite what you may remember from her over-glammed Simple Life days, Nicole Richie swears she doesn’t know a thing about cosmetics. “I can do my own hair, but I cannot do makeup. I don’t even own it. I only own undereye concealer, Maybelline mascara, and an eyelash curler.” [Huff Po]

The new L’eau de Chloé wont be out until the middle of next month, but the first teaser for the fragrance’s Mario Sorrenti-directed video is streaming on Facebook as we speak. [Facebook]

New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn may have called for an end to nail polish collaborations in 2012, but the Ace Hotel has other ideas. The super hip chain has teamed up with Uslu Airlines to launch a dark asphalt gray in-house lacquer. [Racked]

Looks like Lindsay Lohan is getting back on the right track. The suddenly lippy blonde has apparently nabbed her first beauty contract courtesy of FCUK’s new scent, Friction. [Oh No They Didn't]

A Fragrance For Nicole; Limbal Rings, A Defintion; And More…

-------

It was really only a matter of time. Today comes the announcement that Nicole Richie is entering the beauty market with a signature scent all her own. Due out next year, the perfume is being billed as cool and classy, “with an edge.” [WWD]

In other things we could have predicted, Jersey Shore‘s Snooki has just launched a new collection of indoor tanning products. [Us]

A new study suggests an unlikely feature is the key to determining physical attractiveness in someone else: the eye’s limbal ring. Apparently, in the 20 milliseconds it takes to assess a person’s attractiveness, we’re factoring in the size and shade of the circle around the iris that separates it from the whites of the eyes. The bigger and darker the limbal ring, the more attractive the person appears. [HuffPo]

For the record, President Obama does not dye his hair—nor is the excess of salt in his pepper strands the result of job stress. “My grandfather was gray by the time he was 29,” Obama insists. “So I figured it was going to come. It just happened to coincide with the presidency.” [L.A. Times]

The fact that Lindsay Lohan is getting a one-way ticket back to jail is top o’ the twitter feeds today. And coming in a close second? Her courtroom bronzer abuse. [TMZ]

A Sure Sign That LiLo Is Shaping Up? Look To Her Lacquer

-------

Since infamously displaying her true feelings for the judge who ultimately sentenced her to 90 days in jail last summer with some rather bawdy nail art, Lindsay Lohan’s fingertips have become almost as telling of her rehabilitation progress as her behavior. The tattered pink camo overlays she wore in February during deliberation in that necklace-theft case, for example, certainly didn’t make it any more difficult to sentence her to house arrest. But at a probation hearing in Los Angeles yesterday, things seemed to be looking up for the embattled star, if her manicure is any indication. No expletives or chipped polish here—just two pristine coats of opalescent white varnish to complement a sophisticated all-black ensemble. Perhaps LiLo is finally ready to own up to her actions and move on—or at least take better care of her nails. Thoughts on the matter?

Lindsay’s Off The Hook; The Kardashians Nail It; And More…

-------

Lindsay Lohan has survived the house arrest that kept her party-free for 35 days and now comes word of another legal triumph for the embattled star: The lawsuit that alleged Lohan had stolen the formula for her Sevin Nyne tanning mist back in 2009 has been dismissed. [Fashion Etc]

More news on Kardashian Kolors, the reality-show sisters’ reported collaboration with OPI: the nail polish collection will feature 16 lacquers with names like Kim-pletely in Love (a pale pink), Listen to your Momager! (a dark, shimmering navy), and Khloé Had A Little Lam-Lam (a dark emerald). Look out for the varnishes come November. [Fashionista]

Remember those Facebook photos Megan Fox posted last week “proving” that she has not in fact used Botox? Well, the medical community begs to differ. [Jezebel]

Lindsay Lohan Bets On The Power Of Pink, And More…

-------

In yet another image overhaul to help draw attention to, er, distract from her persistent legal battles, Lindsay Lohan has added a hot pink streak to her cornsilk blond extensions. How…Prabal Gurung Fall 2011 of her. [MTV.com]

In related events, Pink has embraced a silver lavender shade for her new pixie cut, which was plastered across the blogosphere yesterday to not-so-rave reviews. Turns out, the pop star isn’t a fan, either: “The woman that did my hair butchered it,” she recently tweeted. “I hate it.” [Us]

Yesterday, news broke that Emma Watson has officially been named the new face of Lancôme, and today, pictures have surfaced of the Harry Potter star on the set of her new Mario Testino-shot ad campaign. The high stakes beauty game is also apparently incredibly fast-paced. [BellaSugar Australia]
