L’Oréal Paris’ Latest Addition: Blake Lively

-------

Annoucement Of The New Egerie L Oreal Paris : Blake LivelyIt’s not exactly shocking that Blake Lively is joining the L’Oréal Paris family as a global spokesperson. The actress comes in on the heels of model Lara Stone, who was announced as the face of the cosmetic giant just over two weeks ago. Looks like the brand is stocking up on big hitters to sell beauty products and the message “Because you’re worth it.” And who wouldn’t want to look every bit as blond and glowing as Lively did yesterday in Paris, wearing a powder blue houndstooth-print Balmain dress and bubblegum pink lipstick?

Lara Stone: Unraveling The Tangled Web She Weaves

-------

Beauty Lara StoneAfter chatting with the new face of L’Oréal Paris and the model that makes many a man weak in the knees, Lara Stone, I learned that even supers get bedhead. “I have fine hair, and when I wake up in the morning it’s sort of in one giant dreadlock,” she explained. “I think I sleep really well, but maybe I don’t!” Her secret weapon: the Tangle Teezer. The British import doesn’t boast a handle or fancy boar bristles—instead its ergonomic shape fits in the palm of your hand and the plastic teeth gently glide through snarls without causing damage. And for models (and non-models alike) on the move, there’s the Compact Styler (shown at left in gold)—a travel-size version that comes with a cap to prevent the bristles from being crushed in transit.

EXCLUSIVE: Lara Stone Named New Face Of L’Oréal Paris

-------

lara-stoneShe’s one of the most coveted models (and bodies) in the business—serving as the face for Calvin Klein, Givenchy, and Belstaff, among others. Now, Lara Stone will utter global beauty giant L’Oréal Paris’ four famous words to women all over the world: Because you’re worth it. “I think that’s a pretty incredible message to convey,” says Stone. As for joining the ranks of supers and stars like Laetitia Casta, Beyoncé Knowles, Doutzen Kroes, Julianne Moore, and Jane Fonda, she says, “It wasn’t really anything I ever expected to happen in my career…I never could really see myself in their lineup.” While her gap-toothed smile, sensual curves, and “X-rated lips,” as described by Calvin Klein, make Stone anything but the stereotypical, lithe catwalker, it’s these non-cookie-cutter features that have earned her opening spots and exclusives on multiple runways. Designer Riccardo Tisci told W magazine that he “fell in love” upon first meeting the voluptuous and soft-spoken Dutch beauty in 2006 during castings for Givenchy’s couture show—an effect, it seems, she continues to have on many.

Barbara Palvin: Tangerine Dream

-------

Barbara-Palvin-Orange-Makeup-CannesAs an official sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival, L’Oréal Paris has scattered the event with a host of its most beautiful spokesmodels—Doutzen Kroes, Milla Jovovich, and Barbara Palvin among them. Today, it was Palvin who grabbed headlines, though, as she hit the red carpet for the premiere of All Is Lost with an orange makeup look. The Hungarian stunner sported full lids of bright tangerine eye shadow that made her blue eyes pop, with carrot-hued tips to match. Orange lips we’ve seen; an orange eye-nail combo, not as much. Thoughts on the unexpected color twist?

The rights to the most-watched Internet commercial of all time belong to Dove. The well-loved hair- and body-care brand’s “Real Beauty Sketches” has garnered more than 114 million views on YouTube and other digital-video platforms. [NYDN]

Despite opinions to the contrary, there are reportedly preventative advantages of “pre-toxing,” or getting Botox injections when you’re young—before wrinkles actually form. And the idea is gaining steam. Of the 6.1 million Botox injections that were performed last year, almost 100,000 were for patients in their twenties. [ABC News]

Botox or no Botox, Madonna is a study in how to maintain a youthful appearance, whatever your age. How does she do it? The likelihood is we’ll never know. But there is one product the queen of pop is willing to big up: “There’s this new line of products called Éminence, made with natural ingredients, and that’s what I’m using right now,” she recently revealed. Talk about some good free press. [Hollywood Life]
