May Sum, a vendor on Etsy, is essentially the Michelangelo of makeup. But in lieu of marble, she crafts celebrities (like Lady Gaga) and street-style stars (such as Susie Bubble) out of lipstick. [Telegraph]

Jennifer Lawrence is continuing the trend to get chopped (or wear a wig), posting a photo of her new “cut” on Facebook. No matter how you slice it, she’s a definite doppelganger for Kate Gosselin. [Facebook]
Jared Leto is smooth—real smooth. He committed to his role as a transsexual in Dallas Buyers Club by waxing not just his legs but also his eyebrows. [The Cut]
It’s never too early to break out the Mariah Carey Christmas CD or holiday-themed OPI nail polishes inspired by the diva. Naturally, there’s plenty of glitter in the line (and not the kind that tanks at the box office).
The hits keep coming for Mariah Carey. Not the songs, per se; the singer hasn’t released an album since 2009 (although one is reportedly in the works). But the American Idol judge’s fragrance business is booming. Her twelfth scent, Dreams, launches next month.[Billboard]
Remember that meteorite that crashed into Russia’s Ural region last month? Rather than erect plaques or statues, local authorities are memorializing the event with a perfume. It will be called Chebarkul Meteorite, after the lake where pieces of the asteroid were recovered, and “will most likely feature metallic and stony notes.” No, we’re not making this up. [Allure]
Amy Adams isn’t just the face of Lacoste’s forthcoming scent, Eau de Lacoste. She also has a personal connection to the jasmine sambac and orange flower flacon. “Recently, I was in Ravello, Italy, and it was a perfect temperature and the wind was blowing and I could smell jasmine and orange blossom, and now, to this day, if I’m stressed out, I think of that moment, and it’s one of the things I use to try and relax myself,” says the Oscar-nominated actress. It turns out Mariah Carey’s name for her new collection of fragrances, Lollipop Bling, isn’t that random after all. When Nick Cannon proposed to Carey, he apparently presented her with a Ring Pop, and inside the package was a proper engagement ring. That’s where Elizabeth Arden got the idea for the singer’s perfume trio. Phew. We were readying ourselves for another bout of post-Glitter “exhaustion.” [NYT]
Exciting news from across the pond. Liz Earle, our favorite U.K.-based purveyor of natural skincare products, is branching out into haircare for fall. Taking into account the U.K. vs. U.S. launch date lapse, we’re gonna guess that they’ll make landfall here right before the holidays. Two words: Christmas list. [Elle U.K.]
Did he or didn’t he? Inquiring minds want to know whether or not President Obama has been dying his increasingly graying hair back to black. Take your mind off the oil spill for a minute and peruse the before and after pictures. [Huff Po]
He may be darkening his salt-and-pepper strands, but Mr. Obama is definitely not indulging in the eighties fad of shaved designs that’s currently experiencing a revival. But man, things would be a whole lot cooler if he was. [NYT]
“What a week!” Michael Kors quipped as he ascended the podium last night at the 38th Annual FiFi Awards—the Fragrance Foundation’s equivalent of the Oscars. The “tan and talented” designer, as he was introduced by Allure editor in chief Linda Wells, picked up not only a CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday night, but also a Hall of Fame statuette for his contributions to the world of perfume at the downtown Armory last night. “It’s the most personal thing I create,” he told us of his collection of eaux, which includes Michael Kors, his signature scent; Destinations, his revolving cast of island-inspired aromas; and his latest effort, the very glamorous Very Hollywood. “It’s like Solomon’s choice,” Kors joked when we asked him which was his favorite, before admitting, “It’s like when you have kids. It’s the oldest and the youngest.”
The evening’s other high-profile winner was Usher, who picked up the Celebrity of the Year Award (fragrances from Avril Lavigne, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, and Halle Berry were all nominated in the Popular Appeal category, but none of their famous creators materialized. ) “I’m really happy about finding a new love and a new passion, which is fragrance,” Usher said as he accepted his FiFi. Talk about igniting passion: “Fragrance is the thing that stays on when everything else comes off,” he told us in a near whisper later on backstage. Swoon. Click here for a complete list of winners.
