Nicole Kidman Goes Platinum; Liv Tyler Strikes Oil; and More…

-------

For her upcoming role in the movie Paper Boy, co-starring an incredibly jacked Zac Efron (High School Musical what?), Nicole Kidman has ditched her strawberry blond locks in favor of a cougar-appropriate shade of platinum. [Daily Mail]

While strolling the snow-dusted streets at Sundance last week, Liv Tyler revealed a winter-weather beauty secret for keeping chapped lips at bay: “If your lips are really dry, you can just literally put olive oil on them at night.” [Daily Glow]

More doctors, regardless of specialty, are expanding their practices to include lucrative cosmetic procedures paid for out of pocket by patients. But just because your ophthalmologist is offering lipo and Botox injections doesn’t mean you should necessarily get them with your next eye exam. [NYT]

Cindy Crawford did it with Meaningful Beauty, and now Christie Brinkley is looking to get in on the skincare game with her own range of antiaging products. “I’ve had many years in the industry and I’ve worked with all the top makeup artists, so I’ll be using tips I’ve learned along the way,” the supermodel says of the 100 percent natural, vegan line. Great skin aside, it wasn’t a super—new or old—that nabbed L.A. Fitness’ “Body of the Year” award. Who did win the coveted title, you ask? Dame Helen Mirren—the talented actress who still can rock a bikini well into her sixties. [Daily Mail]

Nicole Kidman’s Fringe Benefits

-------

Bangs, the aughties trend that just won’t die, have popped up on Nicole Kidman. The famous Aussie actress sported her new ginger fringe with an extra-long ponytail (Fall’s big trend) alongside her country music star husband, Keith Urban, on the red carpet at last night’s CMT Music Awards in Nashville. We’re on the fence about the trim—although it could be proof positive of Kidman’s assertion that she’s over injectables. Bangs instead of Botox—it’s not a terrible idea. What do you think of her new look?

They Want Big Butts And The Stats Don’t Lie, Blake Goes Brunette, And More…

The 2010 Cosmetic Surgery National Data Bank Statistics were released today by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and it looks like the boob job has edged out lipo for the most requested nipping-and-tucking procedure of the year. Somewhat more surprising was the 40 percent rise in butt augmentations. You can thank Kim Kardashian’s willingness to front campaigns for just about anything for the large-and-in-charge posterior’s newfound ubiquity. [Allure]

Blake Lively will be a brunette in this summer’s blockbuster, Green Lantern, but cashing in her blond locks wasn’t her idea. “[My bodyguard] was like, ‘You have to dye your hair brown! Not only for my sake as a fan, but for your own security. People will attack you, people will be so angry.” You’ve gotta appreciate die-hard comic book fans’ somewhat deranged devotion to literary accuracy. [Access Hollywood]

Nicole Kidman may have admitted to Botoxing her way to a line-free complexion back in January, declaring also that those days were behind her, but if you ask us, her cameo at last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards seemed to suggest otherwise. [Daily Mail]

Not one but six hairstylists will apparently be on hand to tend to Kate Middleton’s mane for her wedding to Prince William. And why not? You only get royal married once. [NYDN]

Since we started talking about feather hair extensions a good four months ago, they’ve turned up just about everywhere. Their latest cameo? In Selena Gomez’ brunette locks at this weekend’s Kids’ Choice Awards. [Bella Sugar Australia]

The Truth Sets Nicole Kidman Free, Natalie Portman Is Miss Dior, And More…

The day has finally come. After years of denying avid Botox use—despite evidence to the contrary (foreheads don’t just look like that)—Nicole Kidman has admitted to regular injections. “I don’t use it anymore,” though, she insists. [People]

The latest development in the seemingly nonstop Natalie Portman media blitz is the release of her new ads for Miss Dior Cherie, in which she poses topless (pre-baby bump) with a youthful bow in her hair. To say that she was well cast is an understatement. [Just Jared]

Good news for all the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan fans out there. After speculation over the holidays that the Bollywood actress had been dropped as one of L’Oréal’s global faces and seemingly replaced by the younger Freida Pinto, the French beauty giant has announced that said rumors are “absolutely untrue.” Phew.
