Net-A-Porter, For All Your Beauty Needs; OPI To (Finally) Do E-Commerce; And More…

Net-a-Porter is branching out into beauty. Look out, Sephora. [WWD]

OPI, a mainstay among nail fanatics the world over, has just made a major move to help average consumers procure its products. In a company first, the salon-only brand will start selling its lacquers on Ulta.com. [OPI]

Rachel Zoe opened her DreamDry blow-dry salon in New York’s Flatiron District last month, and 1,000 appointments in the first week alone gave her the confidence to expand. Another Manhattan outpost on 57th Street as well as national locations are scheduled to roll out this year. [WWD]

Gisele’s new Chanel beauty video for its Les Beiges makeup collection is up and running—and pretty tame. But just seeing the supe onscreen makes it a must-see. [Huff Po]

Halle Berry made headlines this morning after telling Conan O’Brien where exactly she sprays that collection of fragrances that bear her name. “You’re supposed to spray it in between your thighs. Then it heats up and the aroma rises up all day long,” Berry told the late-night host. Scandalous! [NYDN]

Word from the gossip mill is that Adele is designing a skincare line—or will be the face of a new skincare line. Watch this space. [OK!]

Dark Angels

At last night’s Met gala, there was something noticeably missing—and we’re not talking about Ashley Olsen’s absence or a lack of feathered dresses (there were plenty of those). We’re talking specifically about the bounty of red lips you except to see at these functions, which were simply nowhere to be found. In their place: Fall’s favorite black cherry pout. There were a few bold crimsons in the crowd to speak of, on Carolyn Murphy and Doutzen Kroes specifically. But for the most part, it was all about mulberry mouths, which were spotted on everyone from Jessica Chastain, Rachel Zoe, and Amber Valletta to Camilla Belle, Lana Del Rey, Kate Bosworth, and Jessica Alba. We’re not usually in the horn-tooting business, but…we told you so.

Eaux De NYFW

That Diptyque is fashion’s favorite home fragrance house is fairly well documented; take a peek through any “insider’s picks” story in any number of glossies and one of its scented votives reliably makes the cut. But the Boulevard Saint-Germain-based brand is making the relationship official this season by “scenting” a number of designers’ shows. The intoxicating, sweet aroma in the lobby at the New York Public Library yesterday at Victoria Beckham’s presentation came courtesy of 60 Diptyque candles in Figuier; Rachel Zoe chose five of the rose and black current-tinged Baies; Wes Gordon blended two of its woodsy Feu de Bois with two of the resinous Opopanax; while Jenni Kayne opted for a trio of Feu de Bois, Opopanax, and the warm and sensual Santal. Diptyque’s when-fragrance-met-fashion experiment won’t end in New York, either. Style.com has learned that wafts of its classic Roses and Figuiers luminaries will mingle as editors peruse Equipment’s new collection at Le Crillon in Paris come March.

Rachel Zoe Says Bye-Bye Blonde

Rachel Zoe is pretty much as L.A. as it gets when it comes to her beauty look. The SoCal super stylist has always championed perma-tanned skin with a few golden blond highlights thrown in for good measure. But even West Coasters—particularly those who travel the globe for fashion shows and red-carpet events—aren’t immune to seasonal change. Only a few days after making a cameo at President Clinton’s A Decade of Difference bash, Zoe turned up at Elle‘s 18th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute last night with her hair dyed a warm shade of auburn. The difference is very subtle—which is exactly how a fall adaptation of sunny blond should be (flaxen-haired friends, take note). We think her new rich, reddish tones will look spot-on when she breaks into her collection of jewel-toned blazers, sweaters, and obligatory sequins for the season. Do you die?

Beauty Is The New Fashion; Bobbi Brown Spills Her Makeup Bag; And More…

With two new fragrances released in the last year, Oscar de la Renta has made it clear that beauty is a focus for him moving forward—a point that will be hammered home tomorrow when he unveils his first venture in cosmetics, a collaborative palette designed with Le Métier de Beauté for Fashion’s Night Out. [WWD]

And he’s not the only designer branching out into the world of primping. In addition to her role as brand ambassador for Exude cosmetics, Rachel Zoe has confirmed that we can expect a fragrance and a makeup collection from her eponymous line in the very near future. [The Cut]

Tom Ford is also forging a beauty path with his highly anticipated full color collection, which will hit stores in October. If there were any doubts that Ford’s foray into all manners of foundation, eye shadows, mascaras, and nail colors will be anything but perfection, he’s ready to allay them. “I’m probably the only man in England who doesn’t want to dress in drag. But makeup? That I’m serious about.” [Telegraph]

Last but not least, sixties favorite Brit brand Biba will also enter the makeup game with a capsule collection of lip, eye, and nail colors to debut at London’s House of Frasier next month. [Hello!]

What’s in makeup guru Bobbi Brown’s cosmetics case? The same things that have been since before she started her own line: “always a cream bronzer, always a dark brown eye shadow, always a nude lipstick, always blush.” [Fashion Etc.]
