The brand-new Revel resort and casino made its intentions of bringing Vegas-caliber luxury, entertainment, and general excess to Atlantic City’s boardwalk clear when it first opened its doors in May; that’s what happens when you shell out $2.5 billion on construction and design and book Beyoncé for her first, post-baby Blue Ivy performance. While you’ve likely heard about the concerts—huge billings for Maroon 5 and Kanye West—and seen the chicified commercials, which air heavily in New York City in the hopes of luring Manhattanites two and a half hours down the Garden State Parkway, you may not be aware of this fun fact: The enormous venue with the imposing cavernous hallways that bear a resemblance to the international aviation system’s fancier airports (think: Heathrow or Copenhagen’s Københavns Lufthavne), also plays home to the first Bask Spa outpost. Conceived by the wellness experts at Exhale, Bask is 35,000 square feet of pure restorative bliss designed to make you feel worlds away from the bass-pumping beats of the property’s HQ discotheque, its burlesque club, Royal Jelly—even, say, your midtown office building. There are 32 treatment rooms, where a host of well-trained aestheticians perform a range of services from massages (opt for the flow, a combination of deep tissue and long, drawn-out movements) and facials to acupuncture and body scrubs. The most impressive feature of the vast expanse, however, is the 3,000-square-foot coed bathhouse, which boasts a salt grotto to help you breathe easier and a truly breathtaking mosaic-tiled mineral pool and jacuzzi. In true Exhale fashion, there is also a mind-body studio, where you can partake in one of the brand’s renowned Core Fusion or yoga classes—which are also offered outside on the beachfront SkyGarden (to the right of the Cabanas and the left of the In/Out Pool). Just make sure to mind your yoga blocks in those Atlantic Ocean breezes.
