As the entire world is well aware, Angelina Jolie is on a globe-spanning junket in support of her new movie Salt. Gone are the days of blood vial necklaces, gray lips, and pixie cuts, but all Angelina, all the time is still an exciting proposition, even if the occasional leather minidress is as outré as she’s going to get. Today in Japan, she sported a pair of different looks to two events—both black and both accompanied by a unique coif. Safe as they may be, each hair choice does justice to the actress’ angular jaw line, nude gloss, and simple black cat-eye. We’d appreciate an off-kilter lip color, but will take what we can get for now. What do you think of her day-to-night transition?
Naomi Watts has been consistently bringing her A-game to red-carpet events. She rocked one of our favorite beauty looks to the Met gala this year, killed it in Cannes, and you know what? We’re even enamored with the messy buns and bare face she’s been snapped sporting in the West Village while playing with her kids this summer. It should come as no surprise, then, that she brought the big guns with her to last night’s Salt premiere in L.A.—a.k.a. hairstylist to the stars Robert Vetica. “It was quite a change for Naomi,” Vetica says of Watts’ cornsilk blond blunt cut that was a bit longer in front and slightly higher in back (Vetica took off two inches pre-premiere). Razor-texturized side-swept bangs completed the look, which was pulled together with Moroccanoil Light—a recent release from the celebrity-favorite brand that works better on fine hair that can’t take too much conditioning. The final result: strands that looked light and airy—and managed to steal much of the spotlight, despite the presence of the Jolie-Pitts. Yeah, we said it.
Angelina Jolie is back on the big screen this month, which for the Jolie-Pitt clan means combination press junket/family vacay. The Salt star and her brood have landed in Cancún, where they’ll be spending the holiday weekend on junket duty. Nice work if you can get it. First up was a photo call for the premiere last night, where the mega-star wore a white strapless number paired with a long, smooth blow-out. To deal with those newly trimmed bangs in the humid, tropical breeze, hairstylist David Babaii relied on Moroccanoil Treatment, which he applied to damp hair to prevent frizz and protect Jolie’s tresses during blow-drying. For a “natural, bohemian touch,” Babaii tousled Angelina’s ends for a weightless finish. Please also note Angelina’s subtle coral lip. She rarely wears pout colors these days, but when she does, watch out. What do you think of her Mexican fiesta ensemble?
Angelina Jolie may have been named Beauty Icon of the Decade, but she’s been sporting a distinctly non-bombshell look of late. The actress has been spotted on location in New York shooting her new film Salt with long black hair—complete with shimmering white strands to make her appear older for the role. Even without her signature honey brunette locks, Jolie’s still drop-dead gorgeous, in our humble opinion. Gray is the new black, after all. What do you think of her on-screen makeover?
