It’s been three and a half years since Willow Smith released the global frenzy that is “Whip My Hair,” but Giles’ latest Resort collection might just bring it back. The lookbook featuring Natalie Westling and her fire-engine-red strands instantly called to mind the 2010 chart-topper. Maybe there was some head-banging rock ‘n’ roll playing in the photo studio, or perhaps the designer is just as enamored with hair color as we are.
After announcing its new blog-style Web platform at the launch of its new Signorina fragrance last week, Salvatore Ferragamo’s Girls About Town Web site is live with a Tumblr feed for its brand ambassadors. The most exciting pic so far: this intimate picture of Patti Hansen, who is Ferragamo girl Alexandra Richards’ style icon. “Luckily, I get her hand-me-downs,” Richards says of her mom. You can be any shape or size to enter the Miss Universe pageant, as long as you’re a woman—a stipulation that recently disqualified Canadian Jenna Talackova from participating in her country’s contest for the crown. Ms. Talackova is transgender but checked off “female” in her entry forms, as she considers herself “a woman with history.” A landmark lawsuit is no doubt in the works. [Us]

In somewhat of a coup, Shiseido has signed Jennifer Connelly to be the face of its Future Solution LX premium skincare line. How the raven-haired, green-eyed Connelly has gone without a beauty contract all these years is completely mind-boggling to us. [WWD]
Equally shocking is this next piece of spokesperson news: L’Oréal Paris has signed a model—not an actress—to front its forthcoming Rouge Caress lipstick line. That model is none other than Hungarian beauty Barbara Palvin. [WWD]

In case you were wondering how Charlize Theron is dealing with aging in Hollywood, the Young Adult star is “36 and loving it. I wouldn’t want to go back to my twenties. Some people have Botox and that’s great. But hopefully I’ll be OK without it.” [Mirror]
It’s too early to say if Willow Smith will make as strong of a showing at the Fall shows as she did for Spring, but she did turn up in full force at the premiere of Justin Bieber’s new flick, Never Say Never, and as expected, her strands didn’t disappoint. If there was any pre- or post-premiere hair-whipping, it was done with Chanel accoutrements, as the tween wove charms from the French house into her braided ponytail for a precocious yet somehow totally age-appropriate look. You can’t say that about her super-structured, fitted blazer. What do you think of the pop princess’ latest coiffing experiment?

Wondering why Natalie Portman signed with Dior as the new face of its Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, after years of only hawking products for vegan brands? “Dior made all of the shoes for me with no animals and no leather or anything…so I can wear Dior shoes without taking lives,” the Black Swan star said. Cruelty-free cannage?! There may be something to that… [USA Today]

Kate Middleton will be a princess in a few short months, but the Bucklebury, England, native doesn’t seem to have plans to abandon her commoner roots. The 28-year-old apparently did her own makeup for a Mario Testino-lensed engagement photo of her with fiancé Prince William. [People]
