Beauty Icon: Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks' musical past goes all the way back to the duets she sang with her grandfather, country musician A.J. Nicks, when she was just 4 years old. But it was a random encounter with Lindsey Buckingham at a high school party near Palo Alto, California, where she harmonized with him on the Mamas & the Papas' "California Dreamin'," that established her trajectory. A few years later, Buckingham invited Nicks to join his band Fritz, and they spent the late sixties and early seventies opening for the likes of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix.
