Anthropologie’s Body of Evidence
Since launching its apothecary last year, Anthropologie has quickly established itself as a destination for niche fragrance collaborations. First came a line of scents with Nolita-based perfumery Le Labo, followed by a partnership with perfumer Ineke Rühland this summer, which yielded the gorgeous Floral Curiosities parfum collection. For its latest team effort, the retailer is hooking up with Lurk, an offshoot of February Moths (a New York-based design firm), for a scented body care line that, in true Anthropologie form, is as much of a marvel to look at as it is to slather on. Called Grown Under Glass, the collection of illustrated bottles features a Multi-Purpose Balm, Replenishing Balm, Nourish Bubble Bath, Transform Body Lotion, and Essential Body Wash in three fragrances: Ver, which boasts wafts of lavender and grass; Ros, a soft floral with undertones of sparkling woods; and Gra, a citrus infused jasmine aroma. Our favorite piece of the 16-piece range is the unscented Illuminate Antioxidant Treatment Stick, which is a light-reflecting highlighter with macadamia oil to brighten and shea and palm butter to quench parched complexions. Each skin saver is free of sulfates, parabens, phthlalates, and all of those other “nasties,” making it that much easier to apply them liberally.
