Chanel’s Peach Persuasion
There is a lot to consider when selecting a new blush. Powder or cream? Liquid or gel? Pink or peach? All-purpose stick or compact? The combinations are endless. We tend to go cream, pink, compact, although we’re always open to new variations, particularly this time of year, when heavy-on-the-blush spring color collections start hitting counters en masse. Top of mind on our faux-flush wish list at the moment is the latest Joues Contraste blush from Chanel. Called Frivole, the true apricot pigment looks a little menacing at first. But when applied as a wash with a semisheer, buildable finish, the initially bold hue takes on a subtle, happy, universally flattering quality that complements a surprising range of complexions. Just ask celebrity makeup artist Angela Levin; the face-painting pro who regularly primps Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, and Reese Witherspoon was cooing over it when we crossed paths with her a few months back. (Don’t be surprised if it makes the red-carpet rounds this month as awards season kicks into high gear).
