Marc Jacobs Beauty Sets Up Shop; Diane Kruger Talks About Her Fashionable Freedom Fighter; and More
Racked reports that Marc Jacobs is set to open an outpost on Bleecker Street (the former home to his collection of women’s accessories) for his new namesake beauty line. The 122-piece range launches at Sephora this Friday, but set a calendar alert now—the teaser of five products that debuted online earlier in the summer sold out within hours.
Chapter two in Chanel’s video skincare campaign with new face Diane Kruger debuted today. If you can’t follow en français, don’t fret; there are subtitles. Kruger cites Coco Chanel as a symbol of freedom because she never made compromises—not even in the name of fashion and beauty. She also speaks of the fashion house’s continued support throughout her career: “Chanel has always been by my side, when I was a very young model and now that I am an actress.” It’s nice to have friends in high places.
Indie perfumer Sanae Barber collaborated with Father John Misty to create a new scent based on the concept of innocence. The folksinger originally wanted the fragrance to include notes of orange blossom and violet, but the end result actually smells faintly of marijuana. While it wasn’t intentional, Barber told The Cut, “I think with any kind of scent, it is related to drugs and getting high because it creates an experience.” This eau isn’t exactly virtuous, if you ask us.
According to Elle.com, the “clavicut” is the new Karlie (i.e., the cropped hairstyle named after super Karlie Kloss that spawned a wave of similar bobs). The collarbone-grazing style is the next big thing, says backstage regular Luigi Murenu: “It’s much cooler than really long or really short hair, which are usually styled one way.”
