Warhol’s Montauk, For Your Holiday Weekend Pleasure
It’s common knowledge that Andy Warhol’s home and playground was New York. But like most inhabitants of this fair city, when the weather got warmer, he too found it necessary to break for the seaside. Montauk, specifically. Of course, it wasn’t all tranquil afternoons spent painting and sipping lemonade. Warhol often brought his Factory people to his 20-acre estate. Just in time for Memorial Day, Bond No. 9 has bottled this idea of disco-meets-the-sea in a unisex take on the oft imitated “beach scent.” The Montauk-in-extremis fragrance, Andy Warhol Montauk, is the fifth offering in the brand’s series of Warhol collectible eaux de parfum. It features top notes of blueberry and wild bergamot, a floral heart, and a dry-down of red oak, driftwood, and amber meant to evoke Montauk’s pristine sunsets and the nighttime antics that tend to follow. The fragrance arrives in stores on Monday.
