It’s Skin Cancer Awareness Month!
With Met coverage occupying much of our blog space over the past 24 hours, we completely forgot to mention that yesterday was Melanoma Monday. In fact, May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Despite its grim implications, the unofficial holiday actually marked a happy occasion, that being the return of the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour sponsored by Rite Aid and Aveeno. For the third year in a row, the SCF is giving anyone anywhere the opportunity to receive a free full-body skin cancer screening inside its 38-foot customized RV. Don’t be creeped out by the word RV; it’s actually a legit setup, and all scans are conducted in a private room by credited local dermatologists who’ve volunteered their time and expertise. This year, the tour will visit over 80 locations through September. If you’re sans insurance and even remotely curious about a questionable freckle or mole, we highly recommend you click here to find out when the glorified camper will be rolling through a town near you.
