Marchesa, Le Métier de Beauté Go To The Circus
Ever since we learned that Le Métier de Beauté would replace NARS Cosmetics as the makeup sponsor for Marchesa’s Fall collection, we’ve been not so patiently waiting to see what Georgina Chapman would dream up.
Yesterday, all was revealed during her show, inspired by French circus performers, at the Chelsea Art Museum. “The hair is really matte, so I wanted the makeup to be shiny,” said Talia Shobrook, Chapman’s go-to face painter, who gave the models metallic pink/burgundy lips, a sheered-out flush, and a glistening bronze/sea foam green cat-eye. Rhinestones were then glued onto the inner corners of their eyelids for an added sparkle. We asked Shobrook what it was like working with Le Métier products and she was quick to point out the range’s versatility. “The Magic Cream is amazing,” she said, referring to the gel that can be mixed with powder pigments in various amounts to create tinted glosses, liners, and stains. (Shobrook mixed the emulsifier with the brand’s Eye Shadow in Blue Steel to create the aqua liner shown at left.)
Color us excited about the limited-edition designer collaboration due to hit shelves next year.
