Still stuck on what to buy for everyone on your list? Our favorite insiders share their picks for the best beauty gifts of the season. Ready, set, online shop.—Fiorella Valdesolo
Who: Nonie Creme, the nail art phenom who plays creative director for hip
lacquer brand Butter London.
What: “For my best girlfriends: Sephora makeup. Each girl gets a Champagne flute filled with a selection of beauty goodies and a baby bottle of Champagne that I then wrap in colorful cellophane with a bow. This year I bought gift sets of lip gloss and eye pencils at Sephora, then divided them up. My numero uno hubby is getting a Clarisonic—a manly, graphite one, with a corresponding face wash from Jack Black because frankly, I’m sick of watching him grind my pretty pink Mia into his beard stubble (ew).”
Sephora Ultra Shine Mini Lip Gloss Set, $22, and Sephora Nano Eyeliner Set,
$20, www.sephora.com; Clarisonic Skin Care Brush, $195, and Jack Black Daily
Facial Cleanser, $18, www.nordstrom.com.
Who: Kilian Hennessy, the always impeccably groomed and outfitted perfumer behind the eponymous By Kilian luxury fragrance line.
What: “By Kilian solid perfumes come in every scent of the L’Oeuvre Noire collection, so they are a great gift for anyone. I will give it to my two sisters for when they are out and about in Paris. The compact doesn’t scratch and is small enough to fit in their purses; plus it has a gorgeous mirror for touch-ups. For my business partner, Elisabeth Jones, I’m getting Fresh Brown Sugar—she is crazy about it! It offers her a luxurious way to wake up in the morning and I love the sweet smell all day. Who knows, maybe Santa will bring her the Brown Sugar Affair gift set.”
Who: Poppy King, the hardcore lipwear devotee behind the brand Lipstick Queen and recent collaborations with J.Crew and Kate Spade.
What: “Sai-Sei Relaxing Minerals gift set is a line based on Japanese bathing rituals, and the set, which comes with a special candle and bath oil, is gorgeous. If you can’t afford an exotic holiday, then you can have one in your bathtub. I would buy this for your BF’s mother; she will love you forever! For a co-worker, I would buy Tocca’s gorgeous little set of seven mini parfums in a beautiful box. So chic and practical for travel.”
Sai-Sei Essential Minerals gift set, $75, www.spacenk.com; Tocca fragrances, $18, www.tocca.com.
Who: Alli Webb, the brains behind Drybar, the latest beauty world success story that continues to expand its blow-drying reach.
What: “OK, I am a little biased, but Drybar’s little gifts sets are an exceptional deal. They are filled with all my favorite items from the salon: a blowout, hair ties, Moroccanoil, and a wet brush. It’s a steal! For my best friend, I’m getting Deborah Lippmann nail polishes. Not only are her polishes innovative and the best shades around, they are also formaldehyde-free, which is a big deal to me. My best girlfriend Paige who is extremely tough to shop for is an organic mama and will adore this set.”
The Drybar Happy Hair Gift set, $55, www.thedrybar.com; Deborah Lippmann Get This Party Started set, $42, www.nordstrom.com.
Who: Nicky Kinnaird, the beauty entrepreneur behind British-born Space NK,
the global chain of high-end apothecaries.
What: “My mother always enjoys scenting her home with candles and flowers to complement the seasons. Diptyque’s mini candle collection infuses the aroma of a wood fire, the freshness of pine, and the spicy notes of Pomander. It will bring warmth to those bleak mid-winter days. For my best friend, I’m getting Rococo Nail Apparel EmpoweRED Duo. By layering nails with the toner top coat, she can wear her crimson shade sheer, bright, or deep with this unique customizable red kit that will allow her to play stylist.”
Diptyque Limited-Edition Candle Trio, $84, and Rococo Nail Apparel EmpoweRED
Duo, $25, www.spacenk.com.
Who: Tanya Becker, co-founder of Physique 57, whose barre-focused fitness
program is responsible for crafting some of the city’s most fashionable abs.
What: “I love Tata Harper’s skin products because they are 100 percent natural and
nontoxic. Her moisturizers are silky smooth and smell like a garden of fresh flowers. The Jet Set makes a great gift for family or friends that travel a lot or are on the go. For a last-minute gift, I’d get Jo Malone Orange Blossom candle. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love this scent. And our our first-ever book! It offers our best calorie-burning exercises along with the most scrumptious meal plan. It’s a perfect gift for friends or family that want to jump-start their New Year’s resolutions and see fast results.”

Who: Sunday Riley, the natural-minded Texan who recently added makeup to her
highly covetable beauty oeuvre.
What: “Astier de Villatte candles—they’re my current obsession. They’re pricey but they throw scent across the entire room and the glass is very beautiful. I’ll pick them up for friends in scents like Mantes La Jolie and Opera. For stocking stuffers, I’m getting Arlotta eye masks. I always carry one of these on flights; it’s silk on one side, cashmere on the other.”

Who: Dr. Frederic Brandt, an icon among dermatologists who attends to a very well-heeled clientele while churning out thoughtful skincare solutions for the masses.
What: “Mally More Perfect Palette is the perfect gift for my socialite clients because it has every makeup essential in a convenient kit which allows them to holiday party-hop wherever they desire. I will also be bringing Thymes Frasier Fir candle with me to all holiday parties this year as it is the perfect hostess gift.”
Mally More Perfect Palette, $65, www.mallybeauty.com; Thymes Frasier Fir candle, $26, www.thymes.com
Who: Francesco Clark, the editor turned skincare honcho who has become a pioneer in the luxury natural skincare category.
What: “Peter Som for Clark’s Botanicals Holiday Travel Kit is a great gift for everyone. Peter is a good friend, and in designing this travel kit he hit the nail on the head! It’s pretty, but not too much, and it has two Clark’s Botanicals Lip Tints, Ultra Rich Lip Balm, and deluxe samples of the Intense Radiance Mask and Smoothing Marine Cream, and sample packets of the Anti-Puff Eye Cream and Nourishing Youth Serum. That’s bang for your buck. Customers are buying six and seven at once! And for me, Maison Martin Margiela cologne spray. I intended to give it away, but I love this unisex fresh and vibrant scent so much I’m going to keep it for myself!”
Peter Som for Clark’s Botanicals Holiday Travel Kit, $59, www.clarksbotanicals.com; Maison Martin Margiela Untitled, $100 for 50ml, www.saks.com.
Who: Misha Anderson, one part of the impossibly cool sister team behind Woodley & Bunny, Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s beauty institution.
What: “Gifting an Andy Tauer fragrance is like gifting art. He’s an avant-garde master that has created scents that are unique and make an impression when you walk into the room—and the Art Deco-inspired bottles look absolutely glamorous on the vanity. This is going to one of my sisters. For my best friend before we hit the town for New Year’s, I’m giving Belmacz makeup. Julia Belmacz creates the most exquisite jewelry and her beauty line, infused with 24K gold flakes, gives the impression of an expensive, special gift.”
Tauer Parfums, $155 each, and Belmacz Meteor Eyeshadow, $34, Scarlett Lipgloss, $33, and Halo All-Over Balm, $39, www.woodleyandbunny.com.
