FEED And Clarins Team Up
After a well-played partnership with evening bag designer Judith Leiber in April, Lauren Bush continues to up the ante with her FEED bags. Her latest collaborative effort is with French beauty giant Clarins. “We’ve done a lot of partnerships in our short life at FEED, but this really is so natural and so easy,” Bush says of the union, alluding to Clarins’ commitment to sustainable bio-diversity programs worldwide. The resulting organic cotton, recycled nylon-lined makeup bags are packed with travel-sized versions of Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion, Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, and Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. Emblazoned with a new, Clarins-branded red logo, the zipper pouch debuted at Colette in Paris this spring, which is where Bush was first introduced to the company’s president, Christian Courtin-Clarins. “As a father of two daughters, it was great to see a young lady who was giving meaning to her life,” Courtin-Clarins said of why he wanted to work with Bush. “She built something that was very clever, extremely easy to understand, and very efficient.”
As with all of her bags, the new addition to Bush’s collection of totes and clutches includes a number—15—denoting how many meals it will provide for children in need through a donation to the United Nations World Food Programme. “The partnership goes beyond this bag, though,” Bush explains. “Clarins is committed to giving money for at least 1 million school meals in two years, which is the first partnership we’ve done that has had a long-term goal.” Look for full-size, Clarins-packed totes printed with the number 25 this October.
