In the 1992 movie Death Becomes Her, Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep are driven to uproariously funny lengths accessing the time-halting powers of a tiny bottle of ancient potion (if for some reason you haven’t seen this classic, add it to your Netflix queue immediately). Since then, I’ve been intrigued by anything drinkable with antiaging promises. The latest contender in this category comes from Chile, where the varied climate and rich soil give the indigenous fruits and plants unusual phytochemical profiles—read: more free radical-fighting polyphenols. Cosmetofruit Chile has harvested said fruits and berries to create three hyper-concentrated phytonutrient elixirs designed to treat and repair skin with super-charged antioxidants. The Total Body Booster uses wild murta, green coffee extract, and spiruline seaweed to improve elasticity and help stop cellulite in its tracks, while the aptly named Luxurious Hair & Nails, with maqui, biotin, and wild blackberries, strengthens strands and tips. But our favorite offering—not only because of its resemblance to the beverage Goldie and Meryl lusted after—is the Face Anti-Aging Defense. With grapeseed extract, blueberries, Kalpariane algae, and green tea extract, a spoonful a day of this slightly tart syrup will reportedly stimulate collagen and elastin, soothe inflammation, and promote microcirculation. Whether or not my skin will return to its infantile state is yet to be determined, but seeing as how this fountain of youth actually tastes delicious, I’m more than happy to keep imbibing.
