Nourish The Skin You’re In
Full disclosure: I could do just as much damage at Whole Foods as I could at preferred clothing emporiums like Barneys or Madewell. Blame it on the incessant siren call of the cheesemonger and my general inability to pick up just one of his many, tempting cultured-milk wedges—how can I just buy goat, and not also sheep and cow varieties? Considering my failure to exhibit any kind of restraint while among the organic superstore’s aisles of goodies, the last thing I needed was something else to lure me in. So it goes without saying that when Whole Beauty started carrying Nourish, all bets were off. The new organic skincare line uses only USDA-certified organic fruits, vegetables, and plant extracts in its deliciously fragrant formulas—Fresh Fig, Almond Vanilla, Lavender Mint, Wild Berries, and an unscented option for the aroma-averse. The organic body butter (the fig scent is a current favorite) works wonders as an overnight treatment for callused feet—particularly when used in tandem with the exfoliating body polish—and I’ve been pleased to find a natural deodorant whose scent doesn’t make my stomach turn. It’s found a comfortable spot in my shopping cart, right between a few ounces of well-aged, nutty flavored Midnight Moon and Oregon Blue Vein, my current creamy, raw go-to.
