The Look: Bangs

Hair to the Throne
Cut straight across the forehead and above the brow line, bangs were worn by both men and women in Ancient Egypt and throughout most of the Greco-Roman empires. After a dip in popularity among the ladies of the Renaissance, Alexandra, Princess of Wales, made it cool to make the cut in the 1880's. The would-be queen's poodlelike fringe, which she kept frizzy and short, came to be known as the "Alexandra bang."
