Pretty En Pointe
Sarah Jessica Parker, Brooke Shields, and Vanessa Williams lived out their tutu fantasies at the New York City Ballet's Spring Gala last night, waltzing about the halls of the David H. Koch Theater in tulle gowns adorned with ample amounts of beadwork, crystals, and sequins. "Didn't we all want to be ballerinas as little girls?" asked Yaz Hernández. "Too bad we grow up so fast!"
Parker, one of the newest members of the Ballet's honorary artists committee, was looking so much the part in her Valentino lace gown and bun, she was mistaken for principal dancer Wendy Whelan. "I wore this dress because today is Valentino's birthday," Parker told Style.com at the dinner after the show. On her Whelan resemblance, she said, "I even told my husband as we arrived tonight that a lot of people say I look like Wendy—I can see it." Shields, for her part, admitted she's never been mistaken for a ballerina. "I was always too tall and not skinny enough, nor will I ever be. That's why I do Broadway."
