If the Shoe Fits…: Brazil’s Beach Couturier Kicks Things Up a Notch
I met Vanda Jacintho for the first time a few years ago. It was my first “big” fashion shoot: a feature on Brazil shot by Mario Testino for which she was the stylist. With an inimitable personal style, she created the Beach Couture brand of truly chic bikinis and panneaux. These panneaux are light, and you can use one at the beach and then wrap it around as a dress. Effortless!
Vanda’s latest venture is a collaboration with shoe designer Sarah Chofakian, in which she created a magnificent collection, with light, ultra-feminine drawings and a mix between classic and contemporary, her trademark. I think I’d rather die than have to choose among all the colors. There will be more of these projects to come, as Vanda is in London nowadays, studying shoe design, trend prediction, and accessories design at Central Saint Martins and with Vannetta Seecharran.
I can’t wait to see what she will come up with!
