Adult Swimwear: New Trunks to Covet
Funnily enough, this week I received two presents from friends, and both were swimming trunks! Shall I read into that?
Does it mean we can be happy again and sunny days are soon coming back? Or, rather, that it is time for me to get to work on my swimming-trunk body? (I’ve never been the bikini kind.)
Anyway, I love both of them.
The first one came from my new friend Christophe Verot, who designs the charmingly retro beachwear collection Robinson Les Bains. (How French does that sound?) He just collaborated with our other friend Alexandre Mattiussi, from AMI Paris, on two jungle-print trunk shorts that I might reserve for wearing to the fashionable pools and beaches.
The second one, a solid blue one, came from my dear friend Caroline who picked it from the swimwear collection of Pantone, the same company which publishes the famous Color Guides, and which is venturing more and more into clothing. They also opened a pop-up store in Le Marais this month. This one comes in so many shades that I want to get all of them, to be safe in all circumstances. In any case, I have chosen the easiest–and laziest–way to read into this coincidence: “Summer is near, of course I don’t need to work out, and my shorts are better than yours.”
