Mr. Green: Before Craig’s Barnstorming Show, a Summer Luncheon

Nick Knight and Craig Green hosted a summer lunch at Hoi Polloi in the Ace Hotel London Shoreditch this weekend, as a precursor to London Collections: Men and SHOWstudio’s live panel men’s show reviews. Knight—as debonair as ever in a Kilgour suit, bespoke Frank Foster shirt, and Trickers brogues—arrived with son Calum, wearing some pretty on-the-money Marques’Almeida frayed-denim camo.Matthew Williams and Jennifer Murray Williams with Alyx Alaïa Lynn Peekaboo Williams.
Art director Matt Williams was also keeping it in the fam, with daughter Alyx and wife Jennifer (in this summer’s brushstroke Céline), while many guests, including SHOWstudio’s Lou Stoppard and James Costas-Michael, showed bold support for Green by wearing his color-block printed tie-dye. Guests included Nicola Formichetti, Cozette McCreery, Caroline Rush, Tremaine Emory, Lulu Kennedy, Stephane Ashpool, Ruth Hogben, Liam Hodges, and Judy Blame.Watercress-and-lovage soup.
The assembled feasted on Hoi Polloi’s new summer lunch dishes, which are, unsurprisingly, very green: watercress-and-lovage soup, blackened sugar snaps, and salmon with charred cucumber, avocado, and soy. With his myriad synthesizers, Xavier Roide created an electronic soundscape, which developed into synthpop by the time dessert was served (strawberries, pink-peppercorn meringue, and milk ice cream). Shaun Samson shared the news that he was going to be showing at the Fashion East Men’s presentation, while Cassette Playa’s Carri Munden, like many guests, had peeled herself away from the studio, where she’s working on her Spring 2015 Cassette Playa collection.Tremaine Emory and Carri Munden.
