I don’t mind a long drive. I once, almost 20 years ago, drove from Sacramento, California, to Vail, Colorado, in one uninterrupted caffeine-fueled marathon. I’ve driven all the way from L.A. to NYC, albeit slowly. So when Rolls-Royce lent me the new Wraith for a week, I thought I’d give it a decent spin. I normally drive a car that does 0 to 60 mph in about half an hour and still has window winders and a cassette player. The new Rolls does 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds, has a night-vision camera, and asks you if you’d like to stop for a cup of tea if it thinks you’ve been driving too long. Which, frankly, is unlikely, because it’s a thrill to drive. I took it all the way to the northwest of Scotland, to the beautiful Wester Ross, and back again. It was a joy.
