Lily Parker and Ben Grimes are part of London's new wave of young women designers with something to say. Grimes is a model and Parker a trained pattern-cutter who worked with Richard Nicoll until the two friends set up LP.BG together. Showing under the New-Gen umbrella, they presented their collection on models standing on white cubes in a room shared with Jo Sykes; the relaxed atmosphere allowed time for the girls to point out their influences and favorite pieces. "As a brand, we just want to be modern and fresh, and not too extreme—so we'll wear everything," said Grimes. Most charming were the little bias-cut tap shorts, a tangerine and cream flared "tennis dress," and some slim, pieced dresses Grimes said were triggered by her memories of Cubist works in the Fondation Maeght, right near Saint-Paul de Vence, where she grew up.
