At Alexander Wang's downtown showroom, it can be difficult to decipher his T line from his main collection—an obvious sign that the designer is pushing T onward and upward season after season. There were the usual staples today—French terry sweatpants, linen striped long-sleeved shirts, and the classic black, white, and heather gray palette—but they were mixed in with more sophisticated styles. Crepe suiting in the short and pant variety echoed the clean and simple lines of his recent runway show. The sleek pieces were paired with satin and leather bralettes, which leads us to believe that the crop top trend is here to stay. Wang also introduced a handful of new silhouettes, such as a low-back halter dress with metal hardware and leather tops with full back zippers. A far cry from a simple pocket tee, that's for sure. The sweaters, like those we saw on Liberty Ross and Daria Strokous last week, had sheer backs for showing a little springtime skin. But as for separates that glow in the dark? Maybe next season.
