For Fall 2002 accessories, dainty is a don't. Designers scaled up with oversize bags, floor-sweeping scarves, and fuzzy, furry vests that look like they came straight off the back of an errant yeti. Boots are still the footwear of choice, with a wealth of options—laced, hooked or raised to thigh-heights. The top note, though, came by way of a long-neglected category: the hat, which showed up variously as a woolly tam, a plush mink topper and a jaunty men's fedora.—Laird Borrelli
