runway reviewCarolina Herrera
NEW YORK, September 13, 1999 – Carolina Herrera took a playful turn for spring 2000, displaying a youthful, modern feeling that was balanced by her trademark ladylike sophistication. Never one to take fashion over the top, Herrera featured plenty of luscious colors, including beaded pink and chartreuse camisoles and dresses, rich Moroccan embroideries, and buttery-soft suede trousers. The evening looks brought to mind a daring debutante: citron silk crepe backless halter gowns, full taffeta skirts, and ruffled shirts paired with floor-length A-line skirts. "The mood for 2000 is feminine, luxurious and seductive," explained Herrera. "We need a lot of color and energy."
