runway reviewCynthia Rowley
NEW YORK, September 14, 1999 – Cynthia Rowley's dancehall-inspired presentation was held at a ballroom in the New Yorker hotel, where a couple did a brief waltz as a prelude to the show. The colorful collection was divided into four categories, each with its own distinctive feel: "Hanky Panky" featured earth-toned and yellow floral-embroidered dresses, painted leather trousers, and cashmere sweaters. "Acapulco Gold" included a crisp selection of white caftans, perforated shirts and dresses, and ribbon wraps. "Snap out of it" consisted of ultrasexy swimsuits and Op-Art-inspired dresses in white, salmon, and blue. The conclusion was "Get Lit," which showcased party dresses with miniature lights under slinky layers of lace.
