Louis Vuitton
REVIEW
COMPLETE COLLECTION
NEW YORK, January 15, 2008
By Laird Borrelli-Persson
For city slickers, Louis Vuitton's "urban feel" pre-fall collection offered one-stop shopping. Marc Jacobs covered lots of ground in just 19 looks, revisiting some of his favorite themesminimalism, sportswear, lingeriein a sophisticated, soigné way. There were suits made for a day on the town, worn with over-the-elbow bejeweled gloves, as well as an electric pink mink hoodie that topped flaring, thin-wale cords. A cream party dress perfect for Winona Ryder combined "poor" (cashmere flannel) and luxe (Tokyo silk) fabricsa theme that ran throughout. Edgier was a leather skirt paired with a top that was first draped then beaded, to give the effect of a "fractured brooch."see all designers ›
