Tory Burch

NEW YORK, January 14, 2008
By Laird Borrelli-Persson
Tory Burch served up a delicious cocktail for pre-fall, with a recipe that was equal parts Palm Beach (terrycloth, anyone?) and sixties sizzle (A-line dresses and patent trim), with an extra splash of spice from the East. Ikats, batiks, and tie-dyes were cut into classic preppy silhouettes inspired by Babe Paley and Jackie O. in Formentera and Provence. And it wouldn't be a Tory collection without embellishments, so Burch brightened easy jacquard dresses with a touch of gold, strung mariner tops with beads, and added pretty openwork details to festive print tops. Cheers.
