Proenza Schouler

NEW YORK, June 2, 2008
By Meenal Mistry
The typical sun-and-sand references didn't figure into the stark resort vision of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, but the designers did toss around one seasonal buzzword with abandon: ease. That concept was evident in the pajama feel of baggy harem pants layered with oversize, shawl-like trenches and ponchos or slope-shouldered, Japanese-inspired tunics. A strapless nude silk jumpsuit nodded to Yves Saint Laurent and the lounging decadence of the seventies. What easier path to resort-ready chic than that?
