For sunny vacation days, there were easy dresses in denim-look linen, plaid, and floral-embroidered gingham—pop one over your head and pair it with the designer's favorite accessory, Birkenstocks. For holiday evenings, cocktail dresses with open backs or delicate embroidery were similarly uncomplicated, proving that Yankee simplicity can work on any occasion.
