Tory Burch

NEW YORK, June 2, 2008
By Laird Borrelli-Persson
Tory Burch's cheerful take on classics just landed her the CFDA Accessories award, so she isn't about to change her formula. "I wanted to capture the mood of island living," the designer said of her Resort collection, which featured caftans, colorful ikats, and Indian-print tees like those she used to wear in high school. Yacht-ready and poolside gear wasn't all Burch had in mind, though. Inspired by her father's "effortless and pulled-together" style, she offered looks—logo-button toppers, jeans in a rainbow of colors, metallic pieces—that could as easily go to work as to the Bahamas.
