"If it ain't broke…" goes the saying, and it's a savvy strategy for commercially driven Resort. Chez Temperley, the designer played to her strengths in romantic, feminine fare, heavy on the dresses. They came in nautically inflected intarsia knits, a bold narcissus print, trimmed with swinging fringe or with a delicate embroidery that could do both boudoir and ballroom. A terrific baggy trouser offered another option and another applicable cliché: It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind.
