Tibi

NEW YORK, December 16, 2009
By Romney Leader
Tibi's pre-fall collection can be summed up as follows: edgy pieces with a feminine twist, and feminine pieces with a touch of edge. Designer Amy Smilovic introduced leather for the first time in the form of pleated black shorts and a coordinating miniskirt; the flattering fit of each would work equally well with a tomboyish sweatshirt or a frilly blouse. As for her signature splashy prints, she gave equal play to tropical-inspired florals and abstract pixelated motifs, using both for little silk dresses. Rounding out the lineup were some well-priced basics, including slouchy trousers and a lightweight striped jacket with a draped lapel.
