Alexander Wang filled his T pre-fall collection with the kind of signature pieces that his devoted downtown chicks will scoop up by the armful. And with every item priced under $260, liberal layering (as demonstrated by the Alastair McKimm-styled lookbook) is encouraged and doable. Just ask the lucky Alex Wang employee who swears she has an entire dresser bursting with the stuff.Naturally, T was full of tees, in neutral shades like bisque, heather gray, cocoa, and, of course, black. What sets this line apart is the designer's inventive approach. For example, he has perfected a silk-rayon that pills so the shirt looks and feels like you've had it for years. A sweatshirt of quilted terry—it almost looked like a mattress pad, but a cool one, trust us—will ruche more and more with each wash. There were also silk maxi slipdresses and skirts—the T take on eveningwear. Just toss on a hoodie to muss it up a bit.
